The US Automotive Market finished 2021 just under 15 million units sold, according to NADA, up 3.1% annually.
The full-year numbers came with the bad news of a very soft month of December, finishing up a challenging year. The final month of 2021 was down 23.7% year-over-year from December 2020.
During the year, Toyota overtook GM for the top-spot among automakers. This repositioning is likely temporary, as 2021 came with plenty of anomaly, including a chip shortage which hampered domestic automakers more than their import counterparts.
